Jeff Renner has become a prominent wildlife artist, winning awards at art shows throughout the Midwest. His original paintings can be found in private collections throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Jeff has painted commissioned originals for Ducks Unlimited, TIP, Minnesota Waterfowl Association among others.
His accomplishments include the 1998 Boy Scouts of America (Northern Lights Council) print of the year, 1996 Arrowhead Ducks Unlimited Artist of the year, 1995 Whitetails Unlimited Membership Artist of the year and 1995 Boy Scouts of America Print of the Year.
Jeff spent his childhood years in the marshes, sloughs and fields of Iowa with his father enjoying some of the best waterfowl and pheasant hunting a boy could imagine. He became interested in sketching wildlife scenes at an early age.
With a B.S. Degree in wildlife biology from the University of Wyoming, Jeff spent several years working for the MN Department of Natural Resources and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He has done field research on timber wolves, waterfowl, birds of prey and many upland game species. Today, as a full time artist, Jeff continues to spend countless hours in the field photographing and sketching wildlife and wildlife habitat for future paintings. “In my paintings, I like to put as much detail into the habitat as I do in the main subject of the painting.”
Jeff resides in Northern Minnesota with his wife Janice and their two children, Alex and Julia.
