Description
This fully-functional leather and seed bead wrapped pipe is finished with fur, real feathers and glass beads. The bowl is made from brass as well as the hatchet end. This tomahawk would have been present during talks of war. If the talks went well, the pipe of the tomahawk would be smoked and passed as a symbol of peace then taken out and buried–the weapon would not be used. (This is where we got the phrase “Bury the hatchet.”) Beads, leather, fur and feathers will vary. Certificate of Authenticity included. Measures about 16-17″ long and the hatchet has a 7″ blade. Details may vary according to artist making the pipe. More Navajo Pipes also available.
